Candidate Filing for Town of McBee Election Completed

Candidate Filing for the September 1, 2020 McBee Town Council was completed on June 30, 2020. 

Filing for the office of Mayor are:

Glenn Odom
Charlie A. Short

Mayor John Campolong decided not to seek re-election.

Filing for the two contested council seats are:

Dawn Boykin
Hewitt O. Dixon
Robbie Liles
James Linton 
Incumbent Charlie Sutton

Council Member Bea Bolton decided not to seek re-election.

For more information on voting, contact the Chesterfield County Election and Voter Registration Office by emailing ccountyelection@shtc.net or calling (843)623-2265.  Voters may also register at the website www.scvotes.org.  Citizens who are town residents desiring to vote in the election must be registered by August 1.

TOWN OF MCBEE
GENERAL ELECTION

The Municipal Election Commission of the Town of McBee announces the general election for the Town of McBee to be Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
The following office shall be included in this election:
  • Mayor
  • 2 Council Members
Filing for one of the above listed offices will be at the McBee Town Hall beginning on June 15, 2020 at 12:00 Noon and remain open during regular business hours until June 30, 2020 at 12:00 Noon.
Filing Fees:
  • Mayor $50
  • Council Member $25

Forms are also available at the Town Hall during regular business hours.  Town Hall is closed to the public until further notice, please call 843-335-8474 prior to arrival and a form will be given to you. 


Town of McBee Announces Modified Operations Due to COVID-19

In the interest of public safety and to help decrease the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), the Town of McBee will be moving to modified operations effective March 18, 2020 until further notice.
We will reevaluate these changes as more information is available.
A detailed outline of modifications will be listed below.
Considering recommendations made by the CDC and SC DHEC, access to the Town’s Public Facilities will be restricted and closed to the public.

The Town of McBee will make the following modifications for business operations:

Town Hall
> Town Hall will be closed to the public. 

Water Bills may be paid:
> Over the Phone: 843.335.8474
> By drop box located in the alcove at Town Hall, 38 W. Juniper Ave, checks or money order only.
> By Mail: P.O. Drawer 248, McBee, SC 29101, checks or money order only.
> Any additional business with the Town Hall may be taken care of by calling 843.335.8474 or emailing mcbeecouncil@shtc.net

> Business licenses may be obtained by completing an application – you may download the application from the Town’s website https://www.townofmcbeesc.com/business/business_license.php
Call the Town Clerk to complete payment processing at 843.335.8474 

Maintenance Department
> Garbage collection will remain on schedule.
> Yard debris will remain on schedule.
> Utility calls/work will not be affected. 

McBee Police Department
> The Police Department lobby will be closed to the public.
> Non-emergency calls and police reports will be completed over the phone by calling 843.335.6613 to minimize contact.

Parks and Recreation Department
> All scheduled practices have been cancelled.
> Recreation Complex will be open for passive recreation such as walking or jogging.

Municipal Court
> Municipal Court has been cancelled until further notice. 
> Traffic tickets may be paid online at https://www.paythatticket.com/payment/search
