During the regular town council meeting held on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, Mayor Glenn Odom declared December 5th as Arbor Day for the Town of McBee. This day will be to celebrate and support efforts to protect tress and woodlands.
Arbor day began in 1872 and was first observed in Nebraska with the planting of more than a million trees. Arbor Day is now observed throughout the nation.
Mayor Odom urges all citizens to plant trees and take part in Arbor Day annually.
The Town of McBee is in hopes to be recognized as a Tree City in the near future.
If you would like to know more about the goals with the Tree City Board that will be established, please contact McBee Town Hall at 843-335-8474 to volunteer.
